Finalize an Order
If you have a printer enabled at your station, there will be a "Print Tickets" checkbox available above the payment buttons (if there are tickets in the order). If the "Auto Print" setting is turned on in the app settings, this box will always be checked by default. You can check or uncheck it to automatically print the tickets after the order is complete. If you forget to check the box, there is also a Print Tickets button available on the order summary screen.
The payment types that have been enabled in the app's settings will be available in the green section at the bottom of the order. Cash will always be enabled, additionally, you can enable Credit Card, Gift Card, and Check. If you don't see the payment option you need to use, it can be turned on by a manager, by visiting the settings screen using the link in the dropdown menu at the top right corner of the app.
Once you tap a payment type, the total due on the order will be filled out in the number pad. It's possible to split orders between multiple payments, to do so, delete the pre-filled dollar amount on the number pad, and type in the partial amount for the first payment type. The order total will update with that payment applied and you can continue to apply subsequent payments. It's possible to split between multiple payment types or even multiple payments of the same type.
Once you have applied a partial payment, you must pay for the remaining balance on that order before you can start a new one. If the customer is unable to complete the payment, finish their order using Cash, and then pull up the order and refund the amount they paid to their payment method.
Once a transaction is successfully processed, you'll have the option to email the customer their order confirmation, print their tickets and print their receipt. If you email the customer their order, they will be eligible for more advanced features, such as Promotion Campaigns based on which Shows they attended.
Note: It's important not to quit out of the app (by swiping it off of the app switcher) when there is an order in progress. After 3 minutes of idle time, the app will reset and cancel any unpaid order, but if the app has been restarted, the app loses track of the order, and the tickets won't be released for 20 minutes, via a cleanup job on the backend. If an order has any payment applied, the consequences are worse – the tickets will not be released because they've been partially paid for, and the order cannot be refunded because it's incomplete. You can always provide credit card refunds via the Stripe dashboard, but they won't be reflected in your Filmbot reports.
