Gift Memberships
Customers can elect to gift annual memberships on the Membership Signup page. Gifted memberships can be scheduled to send on a specific date and time, or sent immediately to the recipient.
- On the membership signup page, they select the Someone else option below the email field in the Your Details section of the page. This will automatically change the fields in the Membership Details section directly below the Your Details section. They fill in their own First name, Last name and Email in the Your Details section.
- They fill out the required fields for the recipient's First name, Last name and Email in the Membership Details section.
- They select "Immediately" or "Date" to the right of the Send at the following time to choose when they'd like the recipient to receive their notification. (Note: the date and time will match the timezone of your cinema)
- If they'd like to include a message to the recipient in their confirmation email, they can use the Message (optional) field to add their message.
- Add their payment details, accept the terms and conditions and click Purchase to complete. Cash transactions are intended for in-person sign-ups and are only available to staff if they're logged in to the admin.

We do not require Phone number, Mailing address, City, State, Country or Mailing postal codes for gifted memberships.

If a customer elects to send their gift membership on a future date, the memberships will appear on the Pending Activation tab in Memberships > Purchased.

If you view the details of the Membership, Purchased as Gift? will show "Yes" and the Gift Delivery Date will show when the membership is scheduled to be activated.

If a gift membership is purchased immediately, the gifted membership will automatically appear in the Active tab and the Gift Delivery Date value will show "Immediate" in their Membership Details.

Column J in the Memberships Report is titled Gifted? and will show a value of "x" if the membership was purchased as a gift.

No, monthly membership plans cannot currently be gifted.

Yes, you can can refund gift memberships and cancel active gift memberships. To cancel a pending gift membership:
- Select a new future End Date for the membership on the associated Membership Details page.
- Select the Save Membership button to activate the membership. This prevents the email notification from being sent to the recipient.
- Select a past date (i.e. yesterday) in the End Date field and select Save Membership again to cancel the membership. The membership will be unusable after this update, but it won't be moved to "Inactive" status until after nightly updates have processed.
