Add an extra to a showtime
Extras are useful if there is something special happening at a specific screening that you want to highlight for your audience. For example:
- The cast will be present for a live Q&A
- A special introduction by the director
- Live music
Adding an extra to a showtime is helpful to avoid having to create a second movie profile for that same film.
- In the Dashboard, visit Movies > All Movies, search for the movie you want to add an extra to, and open its page.
- Scroll down to Upcoming Showtimes and select the showtime you'd like to add an extra to.
- Add a brief description of the extra in the Extra field for that showtime, and then copy and paste that same description into the Shortened Extra field.
- Add a very short description (only 8 characters) of the extra in the Abbreviated Extra field, for example "w/ Q&A". This content will display on the button for the showtime.
- If you have a large number of additional details on the extra, you can add those to the Extra Details field.
- In the rare case tickets are being sold for this screening or event outside of the Filmbot system, you can include the appropriate URL for the external ticketing provider in the External Ticketing URL field.
- To make the extra live on your web site, put a checkmark next to Extra Published, then scroll up to the top and click Save Showtime.
Q: What if there are two different Extras for two different showtimes for the same film on the same day?
A: No problem! The two Extras and Abbrieviated Extras will appear on the individual Movie Page when the datepicker is selected for that day and within their respective showtime buttons.
