in the sales > customers section of your admin, you can find a list of your customers and their order histories how customers are created new customers are automatically generated by the system to track each unique person's order history, based on the recognition of email addresses and credit cards used during the website and box office checkout process the following information is stored for a customer if provided full name email address credit card fingerprint card brand card last 4 gift account mailing address phone number interests sources birthday a list of orders are connected to each customer, and memberships can also be connected to customers how customers are identified during a purchase whenever an existing customer makes a purchase, the system will identify them based on their email address, if provided if the email is not provided or an email is provided that is not recognized in the system, the customer will be identified by their credit card fingerprint if the system cannot identify an existing customer by either of those two values, a new customer will be created when are customers updated? if the customer can be identified by either their email address or credit card fingerprint, the customer details will be updated based on the latest information they provide during the purchase
