Collecting Tips

If you're using the BBPOS WisePOS E, you can accept tips entered on the Stripe card reader. Please ensure you've updated to the latest version of the Box Office app in the Apple App Store. The tipping requires a minimum version of Filmbot Box Office 2.7.1.

Configure Suggested Tips

You can configure suggested tips to appear on the card reader screen. Note that the customer will always have the option for "Custom" or "No tip", but you must also configure suggested tips to enable tipping.

  1. An Administrator user will need to visit Settings > Theater Setup > Sales to configure the suggested tips on the card reader. The settings are at the bottom of the page:
  2. Save the settings and wait around 5 minutes for your Stripe card readers to receive the update. If you don't want to wait, you can simply restart the reader.

Enable Tips in the Box Office App

  1. From the Login screen on the Box Office App, tap the gear, then log in with the settings PIN (provided with earlier documentation - please contact us if you need it re-sent).
  2. Ensure you have "stripe" selected as the PAYMENT_GATEWAY
  3. Check the box labelled STRIPE.ENABLE_TIPPING
  4. Save the settings.
