Create a blog
If you want to keep your customers updated on the new developments of your theater with chronological news posts - such as upcoming screenings, menu changes or renovations - you can create a blog. First, you'll need to create some blog posts!
Creating blog posts
For each news article you want to add to your blog, create a post:
- In your Dashboard, visit Posts > Add New
- Give your post a title ("We've got comfortable new seats") and then add the content of your post to the editor underneath
- In the right sidebar, click on Set Featured Image and upload an appropriate image, which will later be used to showcase your post in the blog
- Click on Publish, and your post will be live
Creating a blog page
A blog page allows a customer to scroll through past blog posts in chronological order.
- We by default include a Latest News blog page. In the Dashboard, go to Pages > Latest News
- If for some reason you do not have a blog page configured, feel free to write us at [email protected] and let us know you'd like to set one up
Highlighting recent blog posts on your home page
You can use the Blog panel in the Flexible Template to showcase your Blog posts. To add that panel, you can use our instructions on editing your Home Page.
To add the Blog page to your top menu:
- In your dashboard, visit Appearance > Menus
- Choose Main Menu from the pull-down, then click select
- Check the checkbox next to News (or the name of your blog), then click Add to Menu
- On the right side, drag the News page to the preferred location in the menu
- Click Save Menu
To add the Blog page to your footer menu:
- In your dashboard, visit Appearance > Menus
- Choose Footer Menu from the pull-down, then click select
- Check the checkbox next to News (or the name of your blog), then click Add to Menu
- On the right side, drag the News page to the preferred location in the menu
- Click Save Menu
