Keyboard-Only Accessibility Mode

The Filmbot reserved seat map view has an accessibility mode that can be enabled by visitors who may need to navigate your web pages with a keyboard rather than a mouse. When turned on, this mode allows keyboard-only users to use the up and down arrows on their keyboard to navigate through a list of each seat in your auditorium, and select which seats they would like to reserve. Each row and seat number is read out loud as they navigate through the seats. While this mode makes it possible to navigate the seat map using a keyboard, it can still be difficult for vision impaired users to understand important features about the layout of the auditorium, including what types of seats you may have in particular rows, where the doors are, which rows are closest to the screen, how many rows there are overall, etc.

Accessibility Description

In order to facilitate a better understanding of your auditorium's layout by vision-impaired users, there is a field on the auditorium editor called "Accessibility Description" where you can enter a description of the room, including information that would be helpful to vision-impaired customers. This description will be embedded in the page above the list of seats, whenever the keyboard-only seat selection mode is turned on, it will not be presented to users unless they turn the keyboard-only mode on.

To add an Accessibility Description:

  • Select Scheduler
  • Select Auditoriums
  • Select the auditorium with reserved seating
  • Scroll down to Accessibility Description and enter text into that box
