Food and Drink Menus
If you serve food and drinks at your cinema, you may have a page using the "Food & Drink" template on your website, which allows you to embed images of your menus into the page.
Screen readers are unable to read the text within the images, and most menus will have far too much text to reasonably include in the "alt text" field. As a solution to make your menus accessible to visitors using a screen reader, we have hidden the menu images from screen reader navigation, and there is a field on the page editor where you can upload a PDF version of your set of menus, which will be outputted as a download link next to the menu image on the page.
PDFs are readable by screen readers, so downloading the PDF version is an alternative way for vision impaired visitors who use a screen reader to browse your menu. In order for this feature to work as intended, you must make sure that your menu PDF is generated with accessibility features turned on. You can read more about PDF accessibility at the Adobe website.
